Arts and Language Literacy (ALL)

The Arts and Language Literacy initiative is a comprehensive approach to broadening art education opportunities while improving students’ command of the English language and increasing content learning through arts plus arts-integrated in-school programming for students in Title 1 schools.

Two Title I elementary schools, PS 185M and PS 110K, took part in the ALL initiative, which served roughly:

-300 students

-15 classrooms, and

-20 educators

and provided each student with over 120 hours of in-school arts learning opportunities per year.

The comprehensive arts-integration program, which ran from 2012-2016, focused on:

-Arts learning in dance, theatre, and visual arts

-English language learning, and

-Literacy development

Funding for ALL was made possible in part by support from the Target Foundation and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
